About kiteares

Still discovering lots about myself, funny thing is until about 15 years ago, I thought I knew what there was to know. Then I found there wasn't and in finding that I think I learn a new surprising fact about myself every year (I know it doesn't sound a lot, but at my age when the thoughts are slow...)
Well I did it, I bit the bullet after a little pushing I did publish a short story and already got some ideas where to go next. I can see this becoming a little addictive.

Favorite Books:
Lean heavily toward sci-fi/fantasy, horror and historical fiction genre
The Black Magician by Trudi Canavan and the Hannibal series by Ben Kane are 2 that I have recently enjoyed.
My all time favourites include The Lord of the Rings, The Barsoom series, The Stainless Steel Rat series.
Like science fact and yes I have read A Brief History of Time (and it's sequel).
Favorite Authors:
Bernard Cornwell, Rachel Vincent and Piers Anthony are authors I tend to return to a lot.
ERB - Edgar Rice Burroughs and James Herbert are among my all time favourites.
Favorite Movies:
For the spectacle - Lord of the Rings, for sheer insane sadism (the mind of the writers must be warped) - Saw and it's follow ups, for just being silly anything with Minions in.
Favourite TV Shows:
Serious Trekkie, Stargate was great for 7 seasons and 1 spin off.
Thanks to off spring I am inundated with The Simpsons, but enjoy Family Guy and American Dad, also loved Ren and Stimpy while it was about.
Like books and films I enjoy most sci-fi/fantasy, horror and historical fiction and science and historical fact programmes too. Have watched the Royal Society Christmas lectures for the last 35 years.
Favorite Music:
Oh goodness, classical, jazz, 50's - present day, whatever hits the spot and gets the foot tapping or the mood shifting.

Ahh-ha finally fallen upon some explanation.
Is this slowing down publication of other stories, as it has seemed very quiet today and I have an addiction to feed.

I did look for a welcome thread before barging in here with my 1st post, but to no avail.

Nice thread and should be compulsory reading for all authors.

Drug vs dragged - I put a drug in the drink, then later dragged them out of the bar.
I'll probably take some flack for the next one, but I could not care less.
I could care less, if you could care less, it means you care some otherwise you would not be able to care less than you currently do.

I am British and make no apologies for spelling colour and favour with a 'u'.

I got up around 7 a.m. and Sally was pottering around downstairs, the kettle was boiling and she had obviously heard me moving about and shouted up asking if I wanted a coffee. Seriously? Do bears shit in the woods? How I actually replied was, “Yes please dear, just grabbing a quick shower.” Five minutes later, showered and with teeth...
